At a "Media Ethics and Investigative Journalism" workshop in Pakistan, U.S. journalism professor Sherry Ricchiardi advised on anonymous sourcing and fact-checking anonymous sourcing, Pakistan's Express-Tribune reported.

Ricchiardi also recommended journalists "tell the truth and minimise the harm" and be careful to separate opinion and fact. Ricchiardi called for journalists to include "human voices" and not be dependent on "leaders or spokesperson," according to the Express-Tribune.
