Was August 26 backwards day at the Wall Street Journal?  Two corrections posted on the Journal's online corrections page that day suggest so!

The corrections report that the Journal's facts were backwards in a story on Apple and Samsung and a story referencing "an ethanol mandate."

In the Apple-Samsung story, the correction reads:

"Jurors found that Apple Inc. didn't infringe any of the five patents asserted by Samsung Electronics Co. in the companies' California court battle. In some editions Saturday, a reference in a page-one article to that aspect of the case incorrectly said the jury found that Samsung didn't violate the five patents it asserted against Apple."

With the "ethanol mandate," the Journal reported that it labeled a Democratic governor Republican and:

"In addition, four Democratic and three Republican governors have asked the Environmental Protection Agency to waive the mandate. The article incorrectly said that four Republican and three Democratic governors have made that request."
