The University of Central Oklahoma‘s upcoming “annual Media Ethics Conference” will focus on “sports, politics and news” reporting, according to a press release on the university’s website.

The university’s Yvette Walker,  the “Edith Gaylord Kinney Endowed Chair for Journalism Ethics,” is quoted as saying:

“The 24/7 focus on sports and political news, and how we respond to it, is a critical one for media professionals today – especially with the presidential elections mere weeks away, and with football and, later, basketball season upon us.”

For more on the conference, including planned activities and registration for the October 17-18 event, check out the conference’s website.
