Art Science Research Laboratory

iMediaEthics (also known as StinkyJournalism.org) is published by the 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit Art Science Research Laboratory.

ASRL was founded in 1998 by artist, art historian and adjunct journalism lecturer at the University of Iowa, Rhonda Roland Shearer, and her late husband, Harvard professor and scientist Stephen Jay Gould.

ASRL has a non-partisan journalism ethics program in which students and young journalists work with professional researchers to promote the media's use of scientific methods and experts before publication. We also publish investigations of factual errors and ethical breaches by media outlets, iMediaEthics (aka StinkyJournalism.org) . Alexa ranks StinkyJournalism.org in the Top 20 most visited news media watchdogs. (In context, Coumbia Journalism Review [CJR.org] is ranked 3rd or 4th on list).
