The Media Blog called out the UK Daily Mail for its unusual story claiming that school agendas are “part of a government-backed drive to promote the gay agenda.”  The Mail’s story, by Melanie Phillips, was titled:”Yes, gays have often been the victims of prejudice. But they now risk becoming the new McCarthyites.”

According to Phillips, the school curriculum includes “homosexual references in maths, geography and science lessons.”

She writes: “In science, they will be directed to animal species such as emperor penguins and sea horses, where the male takes a lead role in raising its young.”

Phillips asserted that school curricula “is but the latest attempt to brainwash children with propaganda under the camouflage of education.” She went so far as to say “It is an abuse of childhood.”

In response, the Media Blog’s Will Sturgeon criticized Phillips’ article for “a selective choice of supporting arguments,” lack of sourcing and “wild speculation and scaremongering dressed up as fact. ”
