EVENT: The Washington Journalism and Media Conference

The Washington Journalism and Media Conference will be held at George Mason University July 8-13, 2012.

The conference is for “high school student leaders” who are “outstanding sophomores and juniors (rising juniors and seniors),” according to its website.

The conference includes “hands-on, experiential learning through decision-making simulations,” speakers, and visits to Washington, D.C.  According to the event’s website, participants will “explore the creative, practical and ethical tensions inherent in journalism and media.”
