A hoax website imitating the BBC has published fake stories including one that alleges former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown had an affair, the Sun reported.

The fake news website is www.news-bbc.net and “looks identical to the genuine BBC homepage,” according to the Sun.

The Sun reported that the BBC’s spokesperson stated the website isn’t related to the BBC.  The Telegraph reported that the site, “registered to Andrew Firth of York,” has been taken down and that Firth called the site “a joke.”
