The Federal Reserve claimed Bloomberg News made a “variety of egregious errors and mistakes” in a letter to Congress signed by Ben Bernanke, the New York Times reported.

The Times noted that the Federal Reserve didn’t “name Bloomberg” but essentially pointed to this Nov. 28 Bloomberg News article, “Secret Fed Loans Gave Banks $13 Billion Undisclosed to Congress.”

Bloomberg News defended its story, according to the Times.  Spokesperson Ty Trippet is quoted as saying that “We have met with the Fed numerous times on this issue and not once has the Fed ever told us our reporting on this issue is inaccurate.”

Bloomberg News also issued here a report defending its articles against the criticism
