iMediaEthics wrote in June when the UK Independent’s journalist Johann Hari was accused of lifting quotes and misleading readers. After bloggers spotted the lifting, Hari admitted that in some cases, when he is reporting an interview, he would replace a comment made during the interview with a cleaner version of the quote made by the interviewee in another interview or report.

Hari was suspended while the newspaper reviewed his work.  According to the Guardian, the Independent has finished reviewing his work and the newspaper’s editor, Chris Blackhurst, will have to make “a final decision” on Hari’s position at the Independent.
