In a recent clarification, The Toronto Star fessed up to lifting a quote obtained by the Globe and Mail.

The June 4 “news clarification” admitted the newspaper published without credit a comment made by Toronto mayor Rob Ford’s brother, Doug Ford.

Also published  on the June 1 article in question, the “clarification” reads:

“A June 1 article about David Price joining Toronto Mayor Rob Ford’s staff quoted Councillor Doug Ford as telling reporters, ‘You can’t teach loyalty.’ In fact, Ford made the comment to a Globe and Mail reporter.”
