Reem Antoon wrote for Bahraini news site Gulf Daily News criticizing foreign media for reporting on assumptions.  Antoon claimed that foreign media reporting in Bahrain has inaccurately “failed to notice” that Bahraini women “do not have to wear the hijab” for example.

Antoon went on to “implore” journalists to report both sides of the story.

“There may be different codes of journalism, but most share common elements of truthfulness, accuracy, objectivity, impartiality, fairness and public accountability.”
