Fox News won’t use Liz Cheney as a political analyst because of her plans to run for Senate next year, Mediaite reported.

Back in 2011, Fox News similarly axed contributors with potential plans to run for office on the horizon, as iMediaEthics wrote at the time. Both Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum’s contracts were ended while they were deciding whether to run for president,

According to Mediaite’s June 16 report:

“After announcing her intention to mount a 2014 bid for the Senate in her home state of Wyoming, Liz Cheney has been terminated from Fox News as a political analyst, according to a Fox spokesperson.

“Cheney was hired by Fox as a paid contributor and fill-in host back in January 2012.”
