News of the World settled with one of the many people accusing the now-closed newspaper of phone hacking.

Interior designer Kelly Hoppen was paid  £60,000 and her legal costs by News of the World’s publisher Oct. 7.  Hoppen claims that the newspaper hacked her phone between 2004 and 2006, and the newspaper “admitted this last April,” according to the Guardian.
