UK media regulatory body the Press Complaints Commission ruled that the Essex Chronicle newspaper violated the PCC code of conduct when its reporter “entered the stroke unit of a hospital without ‘appropriate permission’ to carry out an interview,” Journalism.co.uk reported.

According to Journalism.co.uk, the newspaper argued that the reporter was “invited to the hospital by a patient’s parents,” but the hospital claims that he didn’t disclose to the hospital his presence as a reporter.
