Media regulatory body, the UK Press Complaints Commission, ruled recently that the Southern Daily Echo named a teenage sexual assault victim after the teenager’s mother complained. The Echo is a daily newspaper in Southampton, UK, according to Mondo Times.

The Echo reported “Details … likely to contribute to the identification of the victim” including the court hearing information, the victim’s age, the date the attack happened, and where the attacker worked, according to the PCC’s report on the complaint.
