A libel lawsuit against the Atlanta Journal-Constitution for its stories linking Richard Jewell to the 1996 Olympic bombing has been dismissed, the First Amendment Center reported.

The newspaper had reported at the time that Jewell was “suspected…of planting the Olympic Park bomb.” However, another man, Eric Robert Rudolph, later “confessed to the bombing,” the Daily Report reported.

Jewell died in 2007, but the lawsuit was “brought by the estate” of Jewell.
