The media covering the case against Amanda Knox has been criticized by prosecutor Giuliano Mignini, ABC News reported.

Knox is the 24-year-old who was convicted with her ex-boyfriend “of murdering the British student Meredith Kercher in November 2007,” as the UK Independent explained. Knox is appealing the conviction.

According to ABC News, Mignini claimed “there has been ‘heavy interference’ in the trial” and “warned” that the media coverage could lead to “systematic denigration of the Italian justice system in the media.”
