Three UK newspapers have apologized for wrongly reporting in February that man named Martin Hoskins “had frozen to death on an overnight fishing trip,” Tabloid Watch reported.
The three apologies — from the Telegraph, the Mail and the Mirror — all carried very similar wording, but interestingly were published months apart, Tabloid Watch noted. The Telegraph ran its apology April 26 but the Mail and Mirror just published theirs this week.
According to the Telegraph’s apology, Hoskins “died of natural causes.”
