Argentine Newspaper Clarin Ordered to Run ‘Rectification’ of Sexist Headline

Argentine newspaper Clarin must “publish rectification” online and in print of a 2009 story headline that a court determined “discriminates against women,” according to the Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas.

As the Knight Center explained,  the story in question, “The child factory: They conceive in numbers and obtain higher benefits from the state,” “reported on low-income mothers that have many children and receive benefits from the state.”

Newspaper La Capital reported that the court called the headline “offensive.”
