Conduct Code for Bahrain’s Audio visual Media

Bahrain’s Information Affairs Authority released “Professional Code of Conduct for Audio-Visual Media,” Bahrain News Agency reported.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Information Affairs Authority “signed on” and “endorsed” the code.  The code supports some of the following areas:  “freedom, independence, credibility, transparency, accuracy, objectivism, responsibility, accountability,” and more.

An earlier report from Bahrain News Agency explained that the Information Affairs Authority and the Foundation for Excellence in Management Consulting planned to create this code earlier this year. The authority’s president Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al-Khalife explained that it’s “part of IAA-led strategic initiatives to upgrade journalists’ professional performance and promote responsible media freedom and commitments to principles and values.”

We wrote earlier this year when the Bahrain Journalists Association published its code of ethics.
