E! Online unpublished a story describing Ellen Page’s gym outfit as “dressing like a massive man” just a day after the actress called out the negative post.
Page, who has starred in To Rome with Love, Inception and Juno, revealed that she was gay at conference for LGBTQ group Time to THRIVE Friday night. During her speech, she criticized a gossip article about her that said:
“Why does the petite beauty insist upon dressing like a massive man?”
The story was published on E! Online, which has since deleted its negative post, Gossip Cop reported. It was headlined, “Hot Mess Alert Again Ellen Page Rolls her Hobo Style into 2014.”

According to Gossip Cop and Gawker, Huffington Post’s Kia Makarechi spotted the deletion.

Makarechi also noted that in later, Feb 14 story, E! Online reported on Page’s coming-out speech but “skips the bit where she mentions a mean E online story.”
Despite the unpublishing, an excerpt of the E! Online story that mocked Page is still available on IMDB’s website.
Slate pointed to LiveJournal site “Oh No They Didn’t,” which published an additional portion of the article in question that said of Page’s outfit:
“The flannel is giant, the sweat pants are even bigger, those sneaks belong on a skateboard and her hat is about to fall off her head. In fact the only redeeming thing on her body is that kinda cute black silk jacket. Why can’t she just work an outfit around that?”
Last month, E! apologized after presenting Michael J. Fox’s Parkinson’s diagnosis as a “fun fact” during its pre-Golden Globe coverage.
