Irish Mail on Sunday Pays after Spoofing the Tribune

As iMediaEthics previously reported, in February the Irish Mail on Sunday ran a wraparound purporting to be another newspaper, the Sunday Tribune.  As a result, the Tribune, which went into receivership (and was not being published) just prior to the wraparound and eventually closed, sued the Mail on Sunday’s parent company, Associated Newspapers.

Associated Newspapers has now paid the Tribune’s parent company, Independent News & Media “in the region of £150,000” for the spoof issue, according to the Guardian.
