New Ethics Guidelines at Los Angles Times?

The Los Angeles Times released an updated version of its ethics guidelines Feb. 1.   With the revised guidelines (see here), editor Russ Stanton included a note which stated that the guideline revisions are “the result of a thorough review by our Standards & Practices Committee.”

The last revision was in 2006, according to Stanton.  Updates to the guidelines incorporate “the fact that we are a multimedia operation,” Stanton explained.

Stanton recommended the newsroom staff pay attention to “particularly the passages on sources, corrections and clarifications, and our place in the community.”

See the guidelines here.
