News Corp Reviewing ‘Anti-Corruption Controls’

News Corp. CEO Rupert Murdoch revealed in a memo that he is examining the company’s “current internal controls” to “identify ways in which we can enhance them,” Radio Australia reported.

Murdoch is quoted as saying: “Let me emphasise that the review is not based on any suspicion of wrongdoing by any particular business unit or its personnel.”  The review is “of anti-corruption controls in selected locations around the world.”

However, as Radio Australia noted this month “the Church of England sold its shares in News Corp worth almost $3 million, citing ethical grounds.”
