News of the World Gives Apology for Phone Hacking

News of the World has apologized to Sienna Miller in court for having her voicemail hacked, Journalism.co.uk reported. In its statement, News of the World called the information “private information” that “should never have been published.”  The newspaper went on to admit it inappropriately used “private information” and harassed Miller.

Miller was awarded $162,500 last month in settlement with News of the World. She filed her suit against the newspaper in December.  Last month, Jude Law’s lawsuit against the newspaper was approved and reportedly will be considered one of five “lead cases” in a January trial against News of the World.
