PCC: Essex Chronicle Reporter Broke Code of Conduct

UK media regulatory body the Press Complaints Commission ruled that the Essex Chronicle newspaper violated the PCC code of conduct when its reporter “entered the stroke unit of a hospital without ‘appropriate permission’ to carry out an interview,” Journalism.co.uk reported.

According to Journalism.co.uk, the newspaper argued that the reporter was “invited to the hospital by a patient’s parents,” but the hospital claims that he didn’t disclose to the hospital his presence as a reporter.
