STUDY: ‘Media Images: How Much is Too Much?’

The European Journalism Centre highlighted a study on “how the Swiss media dealt with photo and video material in reporting” on the death of Muammar Gaddafi last year.

The study was conducted by the University of Zurich’s Public & Society Research department.  The department reviewed “roughly 40 print, Web and television media sources” and 365 reports, according to the European Journalism Centre.

The study compared how each print, online and broadcast outlet handled Gaddafi’s death in light of journalism ethics and found that “online media was the least considerate of ethical principles.”
