The Syrian Freedom Association claims French magazine Charlie Hebdo‘s publication of Muhammad cartoons were “publicly provoking discrimination, hatred or violence of an ethnic, racial or religious kind,” the BBC reported.
As we wrote last week, the satirical French magazine included cartoons that showed “Muhammad naked and in pornographic poses,” which prompted school and embassy closures.
According to the BBC, the Syrian Freedom Association is “a little-known Syrian organisation” and it “lodged the complaint with prosecutors in Paris.”
