Gannett-owned The News Leader apologized August 19 for publishing the f-word in its “print weather package.”
According to the apology from the paper’s executive editor David Fritz:
“The print weather package is fully assembled by Accuweather and placed on the page in a completed form.
“The language was not caught by our editors and made it into print.”
The f-word was included in a caption for a “Kid’s Corner” feature, according to an image published by Jim Romenesko.
