The New York Daily News questioned if TV news anchors are getting “a little too personal these days.”
In a recent report, the Daily News noted that ABC’s Good Morning America’s Lara Spencer played with Jon Bon Jovi’s hair in an interview and WPIX/Ch 11’s Linda Church got a massage on TV.
The Daily News criticized these types of segments in which “journalism boundaries are being crossed” and called it “this new age of personal journalism.”
The Daily News also questioned if the public would be OK had the “roles been reversed,” and instead of GMA‘s Spencer playing with Bon Jovi’s hair, a male anchor played with Jennifer Aniston’s hair.
