Iran’s Leader Promotes Citizen Journalism?

Even though citizen journalists were arrested last year after Iran’s presidential election, Iranian “spiritual leader and highest authority” Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s office intends to host citizen journalism website, Radio Free Europe Radio Liberty (RFERL) reported.

Khamenei tweets, and in this most recent move, asked citizens for videos, pictures and audios taken during his Oct. 19 trip to the holy city of Qom.

“Khamenei’s office has announced that it will post re-ports and observations from citizens on a special page. Will the office also post potentially critical observations? Most likely not,” RFERL reported.
