The Sun Corrects Animals, STDs & Boy Band One Direction Story after PCC Complaint

What brings a pop band, animals, and sexually-transmitted diseases together?

A recent correction from the UK Sun, according to the UK Press Complaints Commission.  The News Corp-owned newspaper corrected an April 21 story that “inaccurately suggested that the type of chlamydia that infects koalas can be transferred to humans…through urine,” after complaint to the Press Complaints Commission.

The correction reads:

“In a story published on April 21, 2012, we told how One Direction had been warned of catching chlamydia after cuddling koalas at a zoo. We have been asked to make clear that the particular strain of chlamydia which can be passed from koalas to other species is airborne and not sexually transmitted.”

The report in question is headlined “1STD.”
