The New York Times questioned if comedian Jon Stewart is “the modern-day equivalent of Edward R. Murrow.”  The Times called Stewart’s comments especially with respect to the 9/11 responders bill “advocacy journalism” and cited Syracuse University television professor Robert J. Thompson comparing Stewart to Murrow and Walter Cronkite.
