The Cornwall Free News published Nov. 13 a retraction from its police blotter.

The retraction indicated the Canadian outlet's publication of the local Community Police Service police report "wrongly named" someone.

The retraction reads:

"POLICE BLOTTER RETRACTION

"Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service wishes to retract a release which was sent on November 5th, 2012, in the Police Blotter.  Christopher Campbell-Dennison was wrongly named as being arrested, we apologize for any inconvenience this may have occurred."

The original report is still published on the Free News website.  The report claimed he "was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Breach of Probation Order."

iMediaEthics has written to the Free News asking what prompted the correction, where the error was made and if the Free News will correct the original report that prompted the retraction. We'll update with any response.
