Fox News held true to its promise to make an on-air correction for wrongly reporting that President Obama was personally funding a Muslim museum.

As iMediaEthics wrote, Fox & Friends‘ Anna Kooiman said Oct. 5 that Obama “offered to pay out of his own pocket for the Museum of Muslim Culture.” But, that claim was based on a satire story from a site called the National Report.  Kooiman tweeted about and apologized for the error the day after broadcast and a Fox News spokesperson said a correction would air.

On Oct. 12’s Fox & Friends, Kooiman said:

“We made a bad mistake by reporting a story based on poor research that was not true. We apologize for not checking the facts, and for allowing the story to make air.”

Mediaite posted video of the correction.
