CJR criticized MSNBC’s host Dylan Ratigan for “endorsing” a “revolution” Nov. 8 after Ratigan had cartoonist Ted Rall, whose book “The Anti-American Manifesto” was recently released, as a guest on his show, “the Dylan Ratigan Show.”

The book “calls for the left to consider violent revolution if its aims aren’t met, but Ratigan overtly endorsed revolution and implicitly endorsed considering violence,” CJR’s Chittum wrote.

As Slate explained, “Ratigan asked his audience. ‘The answer obviously is yes, the only question is how to do it. … To clear our dire problems may require even more drastic solutions.'”

Ratigan’s comments prompted media criticism especially since MSNBC host Keith Olbermann had just been suspended and reinstated from the network for donating money to Democratic candidates.
