Apologies after Welsh Newspaper Puts 'LOL' in Dead Man's Photo Caption

The Western Mail apologized for writing “LOL” in a caption about a man’s death, the UK Press Gazette reported.   The caption read:

“Mid Wales airport manager Bob Jones, 60, who was killed in the crash LOL.”

The newspaper’s publisher Trinity Mirror said, according to the Press Gazette, that

“The caption error in today’s Western Mail is under internal investigation. We apologise for any offence this error may have caused.”

According to Mondo Times, the Mail is a daily local newspaper in Cardiff.

We have written to Trinity Mirror seeking more information and will update with any response.
