CBS News used a video footage from an Italian hospital room in a story on the coronavirus pandemic in New York City.

Fox News reported that the error occurred in a late March segment for CBS This Morning. The segment showed “several patients and medical professionals in one room during a report about the rising threat of the coronavirus outbreak in New York City,” according to Fox News.

Sky News previously used that footage in a report that correctly identified the footage as from a hospital in Bergamo, Italy, Fox News noted. CBS told Fox it was an editing mistake. iMediaEthics has written to CBS for more information about what went wrong and to ask if it will or has aired a correction.
