European Union on Hungary’s controversial media law

The European Union has issued an ultimatum to Hungary over its controversial new media law, Reuters reported.

The EU call to action requires Hungary to “show its new media law complies with EU rules or face legal action,”

“I confirm Hungary has two weeks to respond, then we reserve the right to launch infringement proceedings,” Jonathan Todd is quoted as saying.  Todd also confirmed that EU Telecoms chief Neelie Kroes issued the two-week ultimatum.
