Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles is holding a forum on “Media Ethics and Social Responsibility” according to an event notice on its website.   The free event is Feb. 25.

The forum asks: “Why is it, more than 40 years after Title IX and with some women gaining high profiles as sport reporters and commentators, that sport media is still dominated by men and female athletes are still marginalized and stereotypes?”

According to Loyola’s website, Pennsylvania State University professor Marie Hardin will lecture on “The (Non) Coverage of Female Athletes and the Media-Sport Complex: Does the Gender of Who Decides Matter?”
