Fox Sports Apologizes for Univ. of Southern California Interview Video

Fox Sports has apologized and unpublished a segment purporting to “welcome” the Univ. of Southern California football team to a football conference, Media Matters reported. The segment, hosted by Fox’s Bob Oschack, aired interviews with “only Asian students who apparently didn’t know much about USC football,” Media Matters explained.

The Post Game blog,Total Pro Sports blog and Deadspin questioned or labeled the video the video racist.

Lou D’Ermilio, from Fox Sports’ media relations, issued a statement in which he apologized to the school and its president. D’Ermilio described the segment as “clearly inappropriate.”  He also noted that the network would “review our editorial process to determine where the breakdown occurred.” The statement is published here on Deadspin’s website.
