A New York Daily News photographer said “I was wrong and sorry” for an April 20 tweet, POLITICO reported.

His April 20 tweets implied “that the New York Times was engaging in checkbook journalism in Colombia as it reports on the sex scandal involving the U.S. Secret Service,” claims which the Times’ spokesperson Eileen Murphy called “offensive and utterly false,” according to POLITICO.

The photographer, Todd Maisel, deleted one tweet with the checkbook journalism claim, POLITICO noted..
