Tunisia Online News reported that a new media organization called “Arab Group of Media Observation” was created March 6 in Tunis, Tunisia.

The group’s president, Sihem Ben Sedrine, stated that the group’s “objectives” include:  “building of an Arab professional and independent information, the support to freedom of opinion and expression and the development of journalists’ capacities.”

The group will include both people and organizations from “media, freedom of expression and Human Rights in the Arab world.”
