Fox News suspended contributor David Bossie this week after his “cotton-picking” comment on yesterday’s Fox & Friends, the Daily Beast reported. According to the Daily Beast, he will be suspended for two weeks.

As iMediaEthics previously reported, Bossie, who is white, claimed Democratic Party strategist Joel Payne, who is black, was “out of [his] cotton-picking mind” during a televised disagreement.  The pair were on a Fox & Friends segment discussing political rhetoric.

Bossie, who was deputy campaign manager for Donald Trump, apologized in a tweet yesterday afternoon, and Fox News called his comments “deeply offensive and wholly inappropriate.”

iMediaEthics has written to Fox News and attempted to reach Bossie via conservative advocacy group Citizens United, for which Bossie is president, for more information and confirmation.
