International Islamic University Islamabad held a seminar on “Media Ethics and Need for Press Council,” Pakistani newspaper The News reported.

According to The News, the seminar included a handful of speakers like the Federal Union of Journalists’ president and the Press Council of Pakistan’s chairman.  The council’s chairman, Raja M. Shafqat Abbasi, reportedly told the seminar that three media groups including the federal Union of Journalists had agreed on an ethics code.
