The Sunday Times donated money to charity and published a clarification after a Press Complaints Commission complaint that the newspaper used an unrelated picture of five women to accompany a Dec. 4 “feature on alcohol abuse,” the PCC reported.

The photo was taken “several years ago in a  public place,” according to the PCC ruling and the women pictured weren’t named by the Times.

The clarification notes in part: “There was no suggestion that they behaved then or now in the inappropriate ways described in the Briefing.”
