Malaysian newspaper The New Straits Times issued a "retraction and apology" to Karpal Singh over a June 14 article claiming he "distributed an explicit sex video of a former Dewan Rakyat deputy speaker and then was indignant when another sex video of his client was being distributed."  Singh is a "Malaysian politician and a lawyer."

The apology reads in part: "We accept there is no truth or basis to our assertion which we hereby retract and unreservedly apologise to Mr Karpal Singh for the pain the anxiety caused to him following the publication of our assertion."

We have written to Singh asking for more information about this and will update with any response.

We wrote in May when the newspaper issued another "retraction and apology." In that case, the lengthy May 3 apology retracted claims about an Australian politician, Senator Nicholas Xenophon.
