Comic Book Journalism posted Sept. 30 an interview with Tom Spurgeon of The Comics Reporter.  Spurgeon has written books about comics and is a comic strip writer, a writer, and an editor.  Spurgeon discussed comic book journalism and comic books.  See the whole interview here.

Notably, in the comments section,  a user named “Shawn” wrote that he finds the biggest issue with comic book journalism to be no editor involvement.

“For me the most notable issue with comics journalism is the complete lack of an editorial presence. Even on CBR and newsarama, bad links, misspellings, and poor formatting abound as if it’s acceptable. This makes the articles have that “fanzine” style that he’s talking about. It’s hard to call the folks that work on these sites journalists when they probably don’t even have the grasp of English necessary to get an internship at cnn.com. I still love the sites (obviously, I’m here) for the information and topics but journalists?”
