SeaWorld officials recently “announced” a new show that will have “whales playing in giant fountains instead of with people,” Reuters reported.

Last year, trainer Dawn Brancheau was killed while interacting with a whale at SeaWorld.  She was pulled into the whale’s tank.  StinkyJournalism started following the SeaWorld cases because SeaWorld joined in a petition to keep video footage of Brancheau’s death from the media.  The media wanted to view the tapes to make its own determination on how Brancheau was pulled into the SeaWorld tank.  As iMediaEthics noted in August, the media never got access to the videos of Brancheau’s death.

Since Brancheau’s death, “SeaWorld has banned trainers from entering the tank with whales,” Reuters explained.
