The Ethics and Excellence in Journalism Foundation gave the Oklahoma City University’s Mass Communications department a $50,000 grant to help pay for the department’s “10-episode series” called “Ethics and Broadcast Journalism: the 2012 TV show series,” according to MediaOCU.com.

The series plans to “follow the ethical practices of national media during the 2012 presidential election,” according to MediaOCU.com.

According to a Feb. 3 press release from the foundation provided to iMediaEthics, the foundation gave a total of “$1.5 million in grants to 19 journalism organizations nationwide.” The foundation’s CEO and president, Bob Ross, is quoted as explaining that the foundation “focused a large majority of available funds toward nonprofit investigative news organizations this grant cycle.”
